Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Loyola Medicine 5K for Kids! We ask that all volunteers arrive at 6:00am the day of the race, Sunday, June 4, 2017. You can park for free at the North Gate parking lot, 8400 w. 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. We will setting up at the Pavilions, see map here. Volunteers help make this event a success! There are many volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups and youth ages 16 and older. A list of volunteer duties is below. If you have any volunteer-related questions, please contact the Office of Development at (708) 216-3201.

Race Day Registration: Assist in checking-in or registering walkers and runners. Help complete registration forms, assign bib numbers, distribute t-shirts and goody bags. After registration closes, assist with breakdown and clean up.

Course Marshall Volunteer: From different locations on the course, motivate, cheer on and encourage runners and walkers for the duration of the race. Assist with the safety of participants by ensuring that they follow the course route or alerting medical staff if a participant needs assistance.

Water Station Volunteer: Ensure participants have access to water. Fill cups and hand to participants. Keep race course clear of all cups/debris. After all participants pass, clear the area of all cups/debris in appropriate receptacles.

Race Course Floaters: Troubleshoot and complete duties as assigned.

Volunteer Check-In: Assist in checking-in volunteers and distribute volunteer t-shirts. Direct volunteers to assigned areas. After race ends, assist with breakdown and clean-up of area.

Gear Check: Oversee storage of participants personal items in bids.
